What is news is Wilson’s comments on what that mode will entail:
“Our next Star Wars Battlefront will be even bigger, taking players into more locations, and allowing them to play with more heroes and characters across multiple Star Wars eras,” Wilson said. “There will be new ways to play, including an all-new single-player campaign, and much, much more that we are excited to share with our players in the months ahead.”
Pay close attention to “multiple Star Wars eras.” Does this mean that players will be able to return to the Clone Wars like in the old Battlefront games? And is there a Force Awakens-era campaign on the way? Considering that the current game only features maps inspired by the Original Trilogy (the Battle of Jakku didn’t take place that long after RotJ) and no single-player campaign mode at all, this little detail is definitely something to get excited about.

The game will most likely arrive to XBO, PS4, and PC.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 Gameplay
DICE has confirmed that it’s developing a single-player campaign for Star Wars Battlefront 2, a move that will undoubtedly make many players happy after the first game launched without a single-player mode at all.
Speaking to Eurogamer, DICE producer Paul Keslin confirmed the news, saying, “Myself as a Star Wars fan, I want story, I want narrative, I want something I can play that immerses me in that world but gives me something to follow and chase.”
Keslin revealed that Motive Studios, who is helping DICE with the sequel, will specifically be working on the single-player campaign mode. The producer also talked a bit about how he doesn’t want the single-player mode to just be an afterthought.
“That’s a lot of what we’ve talked about in terms of DICE’s identity and how we approach games. We’re partnering up with some folks from Motive – they have their own take on how things are – but we have a very close relationship with them, and we want everything to feel like a coherent experience.
“We don’t want it where single player isn’t that great but multiplayer has this great thing and isn’t connected.”
